Built in Malaysia, for Southeast Asian families
NASAB came out of a simple problem: every family has one person who remembers everything, and nowhere to keep what they remember.

Short Answer
Who is behind NASAB?
NASAB is developed in Malaysia for the naming conventions and family structures of the Malay world — the titles Haji and Hajah, bin and binti names, multiple marriages, and records that support faraid calculations. The same conventions are used in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand, so NASAB serves all five countries in English, Malay and Indonesian.
Why we built this family tree system
In many families, the family tree lives in the memory of one or two elders. When they are gone, the chain of lineage breaks — not because nobody cared, but because nobody found the time to write it down.
A printed lineage book solves part of the problem, but it cannot be updated, cannot be searched, and exists in a single copy that usually sits in one person's house. A digital family tree system solves all three at once: it can be edited, it can be searched, and it can be reached by every family member who has been given permission.
Editable
A correction to one record reaches every family member at once.
Searchable
Look up a name, a year or a place of origin without leafing through pages.
Shared access
One living copy, not one book in one person's house.
What we believe
Four decisions that shape every screen in this system — and what we turned down to keep them.
Heritage is not decoration
Lineage records decide faraid, mahram relationships and inheritance rights. They have to be correct — not merely tidy to look at.
Privacy is not an add-on
Family data is personal data. Every part of this system carries control over who may see what.
Usable at any age
A 78-year-old grandmother should be able to open her own profile without anyone's help.
No hidden commission
The family marketplace connects buyers to sellers. We do not touch the transaction.
Protection for your family data.
This system complies with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Your family data is not sold, not shared with third parties, and every access to a sensitive document leaves an audit trail the family head can inspect.
Privacy FAQFamily Data Charter
- Never sold, never shared Your family data is not a product. It is not sold and not handed to third parties.
- Append-only audit trail Every access to a sensitive document is recorded, and that record cannot be edited or deleted.
- Permissions set per module The family head decides who sees the family tree, the gallery, the documents and the chat — one by one.
- Take it out any time The family tree exports in the standard GEDCOM format, and the whole family archive as a single ZIP file.
Every point above is enforced in the code, not merely stated in a policy.
